Well its been a few days since I have posted. It was a busy weekend with Robert being at home, trying to fulfill our "diet" duties...picking out an exercise bike. Church on Sunday and whew...yes a busy time.
So the "Low Carb way" is getting a bit easier. I am feeling good, don't really know that I have lost any weight but I am hanging in there. I worked at one of my clients houses yesterday and since we don't have a scale I weighed there, so I now have a more official amount of weight. I was really guessing when I started a week ago. We go back there in 2 weeks and I will weigh and see how I am doing.
Robert has done very well, he weighed at work and I am waiting today for the official count, because he wanted to "weigh" again today to make sure...lol but looks like he may have already lost about 5 pounds. UGH...he is going to drop it so much quicker than I am. lol but I will go the extra mile to keep up. I do have more to loose than he does and as long as I see progress in my clothes, then I really don't care what the scale says.
We bought a exercise bike, one where you sit and pedal with the pedals in front of you. I am more used to the other kind of bike, but I think I will like this one. I think right now that the other one would kill me. I thought after the ride yesterday that I would be really sore, but I wasn't THANK GOODNESS!!!! Going to have my breakfast here in a few and will do my morning work out since I don't feel sore.
So enough about weight loss today....Yesterday was Valentines Day and Robert brought home a beautiful bouquet of Pink Roses for me. So sweet...even sweeter that he brought home flowers for my mom too. I think she was very much surprised and that she enjoyed them. We had a nice dinner and also kept Marli Claire...so it was fun. Thankful for the love of my life, the support he gives me and how he loves me no matter how much I weigh, how cranky I might be and how messy I let the house get. :-) I love you Robert!!!!
Well...off to eat breakfast, grab a bike ride and get some things done around the house. Its a beautiful day, Thank you Lord Jesus for my sweet husband, family, friends and for allowing me to wake up and enjoy this day!!!!

Busy day and Wendy's Chili Fiasco
Well...another day has come and the diet or should I say change of life is still going on. Working hard at still trying to figure out menu's of things that we like to eat, things that will be filling for not only Robert but me as well.
My treat of choice that seems to be getting me through right now are breath mints. I know...strange huh. But something about when I feel like I "really" want something to eat, I pop one of those mints in my mouth and then when they are withering away I crunch it up. It makes my mouth minty fresh and it keeps me from wanting to at something. So far that has helped!!!
We went today mom and I to do some errands, bought me some more protein bars. I started eating the Slim Fast bars, but found them terribly sweet. Weird huh...Tried the Luna bars which seem good. I bought some Atkins bars today, will see how I like those. Also bought the Market Pantry (Target Brand) Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar today and once my "Wendy's Fiasco" happened, I was able to enjoy it. I will let you know at a later time about the Atkins Bars.
Been trying to have a Protein Shake in the morning, sometimes a Protein Bar for lunch and then a sensible meal for dinner. Dinner is mostly Protein (Chicken or Pork), veggies, salads. Staying totally away from Rice, Pasta and Potatos. No Bread either although today I did find some Low Carb Toritilla's that looked really good and were less than 10g per wrap. So I will see how we do with that.
Well....after our trip to the grocery store, we wanted lunch because it was 2 pm We had decided to go to Wendy's because we wanted to take something home. Our normal trip to the Mexican Rest. is just not possible. WAY TOO MANY CARBS!!!!!
So off to Wendy's we went. Mother wanted a Baked Potato and Chili. My choice was a Large Chili and a garden salad. Well....got home got everything in the house and got my chili and salad all ready to eat and BAM....I hit my hand and the chili went ALL OVER THE KITCHEN FLOOR. I was so upset. I truly wanted to cry because I was really hungry and I wanted to eat so badly and I had really thought a lot about that darn chili. Oh well....the salad was good, I added a boiled egg to that plain old salad..lol to give me some protein. Then I ate that Peanut Butter Protein Bar. I was so upset about not getting to eat my chili...guess that Chili will have to wait another day.
Funny thing....as mother was eating her Chili she started to say, This Chili is so good. But stopped herself as I said to her " That's not nice Marka" which is one of Marli Claire's famous lines.
Looking forward to the weekend. Going to go look at a stationary bike for us to ride, Kmart, Academy Sports and also Play it again sports. Also will find us somewhere to go and have a good meal (Low Carb, Low Calorie) and got to work on the jewelry for Relay for Life.
So busy weekend with my sweetheart but looking forward to it. Will be hard to decide what we are going to eat....lol like I said, I still have to "think" way too much about what we are going to eat, but at least I am getting it into my brain, NO BREAD, NO PASTA, NO RICE
Robert should be coming home soon, its after 5 now, I am making Chicken Stir Fry with Veggies and Spaghetti Squash tonight for supper. Looking forward to something good to eat...its almost time for a snack too.
Off to get busy :-) Happy Friday!!!!

The beginning....
Well I am back to blogging. I haven't blogged in a long time, but thought that this might help me in the new adventure that Robert and I are on.
We are going to lose weight. Ugh....the thought makes me sick...I can't believe how much weight I have put on in the last 7 years. Before meeting Robert (I am not blaming him for my weight gain at all) I had been on Weight Watchers had lost about 60+ pounds and felt really good about how I was looking. Now I look back at that and think....what went wrong in my mind.
Its so easy to just eat to be eating and sadly I love to eat. I love to taste new things, I love to plan what and when and where we are going to eat. I realize again sadly that most of the things that we "plan" are around where we are going to eat.
So....as we start this journey of weight loss, I still have to "think" daily and some times non stop about what I am going to eat, what to send Robert for lunches, bla bla bla....but this time I am thinking of it in the right way. I am thinking of it as the "healthy" things that we can put into our diet.
So we are basically saying no to bad carbs, which most websites call "empty" carbs. Which of course are the ones that we all love. So far no bread, pasta, rice, chips, crackers and the such. I will be trying to find some diet bread which typically has lower carbs.
I have been focusing on Salads, Protein Shakes for me, Cheese, Veggies (Green Beans, Tomatos, Carrots, Squash, Turnip Greens, Cabbage) Fruits (Apples, Pineapple...so far) beans (white, green, pinto) and also making sure that we cut our sugar out...drinking tea with splenda, lots of water 8 + glasses a day and portion control. I am measuring EVERYTHING....yes its a pain, but from my past weight loss I know that it requires it for me to loose the weight.
So our journey began officially on Monday the 7th and that is when I found the great website myfitnesspal.com and it keeps me honest because I have to plug in my numbers and Roberts for everything that goes into our mouth. Again, lots of work, but will be so worth it. It keeps everything for me so I don't have to keep another book and I can even do it from my phone. NICE....wish I had that when I was doing WW years ago.
Just looking forward to being able to do things that the weight keeps me from doing and I look forward to seeing results. I'm going to post daily or at least try to and put pictures of things along the way. I might even fix it where I can have a recipe section from things that we have eaten and loved.
Someday maybe my journal will be able to be public, but for now...I'm keeping it all to myself :-) Thanks for reading!!!!! haha when you do!!!
